Abstract

We demonstrate that functional inks can be successfully and systematically formulated to obtain the required properties for printing Fe2O3-based photoelectrodes. The formulation of the ink as well as the parameters for the printing process can be varied within certain limits to adjust the properties of the electrodes. Characteristics of the formulation process and the printing process are comprehensively studied to estimate the potential of printing different dimensions and structures. For the examination of the photoelectrochemical properties, an optimized photoelectrode is fabricated applying inkjet printing.
