FAQs

Q.
How do I find a Proceedings paper?
A.

You may either search by topic, title, and/or author from the main Digital Library page to find papers within any publication OR you may search directly from the Print4Fab/NIP DL page for any paper published as part of that series.

Q.
What copyright governs papers? How do I get permission to use material from a paper?
A.

IS&T proceedings papers are free to access, but governed by different copyright restrictions depending on the year published.

Generally anything prior to 2016 has an IS&T copyright and permission to reprint text/graphics must be requested via info@imaging.org. After 2016, IS&T increasingly began allowing CCBY and other copyright options. These are noted on the paper's PDF.

If you are in doubt, please contact info@imaging.org.

Q.
How do I cite a Printing for Fabrication or NIP paper?
A.

Most papers offer a "copy citation" option. We suggest using this for accuracy.

If it is missing for a paper, you can use one of the following

  • Author(s), "Title", Proc. IS&T Printing for Fabrication: Int'l Conf. on Digital Printing Technologies (NIPXX), Year, page#, DOI: [insert]
  • Author(s), "Title", Proc. IS&T Conf. on Proc. IS&T Int'l Conf. on Digital Printing Technologies (NIPXX), Year, page#, DOI: [insert]
  • Author(s), "Title", Proc. IS&T Conf. on Proc. IS&T Int'l Conf. on Digital Printing Technologies and Digital Fabrication (NIPXX), Year, page#, DOI: [insert]
