Organic and printed electronics is a platform technology that enables multiple applications. They all benefit from the unique properties of this emerging technology: enabling electronics that is thin, light weight, flexible and potential low-cost. On the other hand the different applications vary widely in their specifications. Since the technology is still in its early stage – and is in the transition from lab-scale and prototype activities to production – it is important to develop a common opinion about what kind of products, processes and materials will be available and when, as well as of the key issues needing to be addressed.The goal of this roadmap is to help the industry, government agencies and scientists plan and align their R&D activities and product plans.The OE-A Roadmap covers organic photovoltaics, flexible displays, OLED-lighting, printed RFID and memory, sensors, flexible batteries, smart objects and textiles. In this presentation we will give an overview on the 3rd edition of the OE-A roadmap as well as demonstrator projects that illustrate the potential of integrated systems based on organic and printed electronics.
