This presentation focuses on the experiences of pioneering Digital Atelier artists, Dorothy Simpson Krause, Bonny Lhotka and Karin Schminke from their residency at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in 1997 to the publication of their best-selling book, Digital Art Studio. Krause explores how her work as an artist has changed and evolved and how she and the other Digital Atelier artists have obtained access to the tools necessary for making their cutting-edge art - art that could have been produced at no other time in history.Their most recent work with UV-cured flatbed printers provides a glimpse into the future for artists using digital technologies.
