In 1908 physicist Gabriel Lippmann won the Nobel Prize for creating a true colour process using standing waves. This paper reviews the historic process of creating Lippmann plates and applies them to recreate the process with modern materials. The optics of the created samples are
reviewed, comparing results to Lippmann's own research and modern attempts by other researchers to recreate or improve the process.
