A Report from the Open Content Alliance Project

Abstract

The Open Content Alliance (OCA) represents the collaborative efforts of a group of cultural, technology, nonprofit, and governmental organizations from around the world that will help build a permanent archive of multilingual digitized text and multimedia content. Jonathan Bengtson will give an overview of the Open Content Alliance project, its evolution, current status and future initiatives, within the context of related developments, such as the mass digitization efforts by Google Print and the Alouette project in Canada.
