      <abstract>
        <p>Printer qualification is an important process to ensure that a newly designed printer works accordingly to specifications. Traditionally, image screening is a part of the process that is rather labor intensive. In this work, we develop an automated prescreening tool, along with an image
 fidelity metric to reduce the workload of expert observers involved in screening the softcopy test images. This tool works for a wide range of image types and content.</p>
