        <p>In this manuscript the drying of paper is examined first from the standpoint of the chemical and physical changes that occur during drying. The examination focuses both on the individual fibers and on the paper web as a whole. This is followed by a discussion of the methods used to
 dry paper in industrial applications. The traditional steam cylinder methods as well as several other methods are discussed.</p>
