        <p>The title compound is a soluble precursor (&#x201C;latent pigment&#x201D;) of diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment (DPP) that can be used for electronic and imaging applications. Two crystal forms (<italic>&#x3B1;</italic> &amp; <italic>&#x3B2;</italic>) are known to exist in powders. Therefore, an attempt has been
 made in the present investigation to carry out full structure analysis on single crystals of both modifications. In the <italic>&#x3B1;</italic>-form, there are two independent molecules (A &amp; B) characterized by <italic>C</italic><sub>1</sub> and <italic>C</italic><sub>i</sub> symmetriesrespectively, and the space
 group <italic>P</italic>2<sub>1</sub>/<italic>n</italic>. The molecules are stacked in the sequence of &#x2013;A-A-B-A-A-B- &#x2026; in a fashion &#x201C;herringbone&#x201D;. On the other hand, the <italic>&#x3B2;</italic>-form crystallizes in the space group of <italic>P</italic>2<sub>1</sub>/<italic>C</italic> and the molecule belongs to <italic>C</italic><sub>1</sub>
 symmetry. The molecules are stacked along the <italic>&#x3B1;</italic>-axis relative to each other in a parallel arrangement.</p>
