We have investigated the effect of two common dye mordants, poly(vinylbenzyl trimethyl ammonium chloride) (PVBTMAC) and poly(diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) on the image stability of inkjet prints generated by two Hewlett Packard inksets. The effect of mordant placement
in the coated structure (top, bottom, or throughout) was studied using optical cross sectional micrographs and correlated with the stability data.
